German company ‘Voith hydro’ is interested in participating in the construction of hydro-energetic facilities on Montenegrin watercourses, reported their representatives.

Regional sales manager of the company ‘Voith hydro’ Predrag Krunic has recalled that Montenegro has a significant hydroenergetic potential on the rivers Moraca, Komarnica, Lim, Cehotina and Tara, and so far only 17% has been used.

-A large part of unused hydro potential is in connection with the Montenegrin agreements with neighboring countries, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, The Republika Srpska on joint use and construction of potentials and construction of power plants. If conditions for construction of power plants on those watercourses could be provided, ‘Voith hydro’ would have the interest to participate in building of such facilities – said Krunic for the newspaper ‘ Electrical Power Industry’.

He has stated that ‘Voith hydro’ of Heidenheim as the main contractor has realized several important projects on the reconstruction and modernization of the two largest and the most important local hydropower plants Perucica and Piva.
