Contests for managers of railway companies opened

The Government of Serbia has opened a public contest for the selection of general managers of the public enterprises Srbija Voz, Srbija Kargo and Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije.

The application deadline is 30 days from the date of the announcement of the public contest in the Official Gazette, and the managers' mandates will last four years.

The Law on Public Enterprises says that applicants should have at least five years of working experience in jobs requiring university education and at least three years of experience in jobs falling under the core activities of the public enterprise in question, and they can't be members of political parties' bodies.

The National Assembly of Serbia adopted the Law on Public Enterprises in late February 2016, and the law prescribes that managers of public enterprises should be selected at public contests.

These three companies were made separate from the Serbian Railways two years ago, and this is the second contest. The first one was opened last year, but was later terminated.
