Sokobanja to get movie theater after more than 20 years

Citizens and tourists spending their summer in Sokobanja will from now on be able to watch movies on a big screen. One of the better visited tourist destinations is getting the Kupina movie theater after more than 20 years, and visitors will now be able to watch movies in the Moravica Hotel.

The grand congress hall in Sokobanja has been renovated, says the director of Kupina, Branko Krsmanovic, and it is fully equipped for 2D and 3D screenings. It will be able to accommodate 200 cinema aficionados.

– There are already some screenings today, and the program we've created is supposed to be interesting to young people and family people alike, as they are the most frequent visitors of Sokobanja – Krsmanovic says.

As he says, the spa will thereby get a modern movie theater after many years. For the time being, it will be a summer cinema only, but the director says that there's a possibility that they will continue cooperating further.

The idea to establish a movie theater in Sokobanja, Krsmanovic says, arose due to the fact the the place is full of tourists during the summer. Another reason is that “the citizens have not had an opportunity to watch 3D screenings so far”.
