Satellite images of state-owned agricultural land to be available soon – New draft law in autumn 2018

The Law on Agricultural Land, the draft of which we will present this autumn, will have every state-owned parcel be visible on satellite images, allowing us to be up-to-date with the activities on all of them at any moment, Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic stated yesterday.

According to him, this will enable visibility and provide information about who produces what on which piece of land, over which time period and at which price, and if activities not in line with the agreement are detected, Nedimovic underlines, the agreement is terminated immediately and the responsible party is penalized.

He also said that this kind of system entails full transparency, that is, it will be open to the public, which means that everyone interested will be able to view state parcels, not just the state institutions.
