Kragujevac automotive industry to get two new factories – Construction of facilities for China's Yangfeng and Spain's Teknia begins at Free Zone Sumadija

At the entrance to Kragujevac from the direction of Batocina, next to the yet to be completed highway to Corridor 10, the construction of two new car component factories, of China's Yangfeng and Spain's Teknia, has begun, Danas reports.

According to Danas' findings, the facility which, as eKapija has already reported, is being built by the Dutch company CTP Invest at the industrial park in Kragujevac, within Free Zone Sumadija, will be rented by the Chinese company Yangfeng, which is the majority owner of the American Adient, which used to operate as part of the multinational company Johnson Controls.

Volkswagen's sales and service outlet, whose construction has just been initiated by the Tasic auto company, will be located next to Yangfeng's factory. The Tasic company says that this will be the most modern sales and service center of Volkswagen in this part of Europe.

In the vicinity of this construction site, the raising of a new facility of the Spanish car component manufacturer Teknia has started recently. This company had bought the Kragujevac-based Promotor IRVA and has been operating for years at the facilities of the former Zastava factory “21. oktobar”.

The director of Teknia in Kragujevac, Slobodan Radovic, told Danas that the new facility, with around 5,500 m2, would be completed by the spring of 2020 and that slightly over 100 workers would be employed there.
