Public procurement procedure for passenger transport on night lines this month – Twenty-nine lines with changed and new routes planned

A new, wider network of night lines in Belgrade, but also new conditions for the private company which gets this job, should start in January. As Politika writes, the members of the city parliament have adopted the decision on the concession act and putting a private partner in charge of passenger transport on night lines.

The public procurement procedure should open in September, bids will be sent by November, and the contract will be awarded in December.

The decision to have 29, instead of the current 25, night lines in the territory of the Serbian capital over the next 10 years was also adopted, and routes will be changes as well.

The private company which wins the contract will be obliged to procure 38 vehicles: 27 single buses, three articulated buses and eight minibuses. The vehicles will need to be air-conditioned and feature remote monitoring devices, counters, wireless internet and portable bus fare devices, if the bus fare collection is carried out by a conductor. The vehicles may not be more than 10 years old.

The concession project has been estimated at nearly RSD 2 billion.
