Construction of gondola on Fruska Gora planned – Vrdnik to be connected with Vrdnicka Kula monument

The construction of Staza Zdravlja (Health Path) in Vrdnik, which began in early August, will considerably upgrade the tourism offer in the Municipality of Irig. As the municipality recently told eKapija, the plan is to also build a gondola, and the works should start in the winter.

– The idea comes from Promont Group, and the Municipality of Irig is the investor. The project is currently in the phase of the preparation of a preliminary design – Bojana Drinic of the Municipality of Irig says for eKapija.

As she pointed out, parallel with the preliminary design, the planning documentation is being prepared too. The gondola will be located close to the Vrdnicka Kula monument and connect this tower with Vrdnik.

– A spatial plan of the Municipality of Irig is currently being prepared. It will define the exact location. The terrain is still being examined by geometers, looking for the most suitable location, where there are no structures that could jeopardize the safety. As this is all still in the preparatory stage, it is not yet known what the price of this project will be – Drinic says.
