"Leoni" Started Production of Automotive Cables in Prokuplje

The German company "Leoni" started production of automotive cables in the new factory in Prokuplje, after six months of preparation and investment of EUR 3 million, said today (November 9, 2009) Mr. Peter Prohaska, the Director of the Prokupac Factory.
He said to the Agency Beta, that he hired 120 new employees who have been trained in Slovakia, and the planned daily production at the beginning is 100 sets of automotive cables.
- According to the plan in March 2010th production will be tripled and will be engaged a total of 200 workers, who have passed the three-month training in "Leoni" factory in Slovakia - said Mr.Prohaska.
As he pointed out, the hiring of new workers will continue continuously, so that until the 2012th the "Leoni" in Prokuplje will employ new 1.300 workers.
The German company "Leoni" earlier this year bought the former factory from bankruptcy for the production of automotive brake lining FIAZ in Prokuplje to 58 million dinars.
"Leoni" is committed to investing in a new factory EUR 15 million and employ 2,000 workers and, as a subsidy by the Government of Serbia, receives EUR 5,000 for each new employee.
Help to start production in Prokuplje provide the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the Agency for Foreign Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Serbia (SIEPA).
The Municipality of Prokupac provided the investors by the construction permits and liberated him pay all fees in the next 10 years.
