Underpass in New Belgrade waiting for building permit – Tunnel beneath the railway to connect two boulevards

The construction of the underpass which would connect Umetnosti Blvd and Crvene Armije Blvd had been planned for 2019, but, due to the amendment to the preliminary project, the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency extended the deadline in late August. As they said for eKapija, the authorization of the project for the building permit is currently being obtained.

The job was awarded in 2018 to the consortium of Energoprojekt Niskogradnja, CIP and Bauwesen. According to an annex to the agreement, as said at the time, the construction can start no sooner than March, and the new completion deadline is September 2020.

The gross value of the design and the execution of the works is RSD 311.9 million.

Let us remind that an underpass is supposed to be built underneath the existing railway, with three lanes in each direction, a median, sidewalks on both sides and bicycle lanes.

The profile beneath the bridge structure will be 4.75 meters tall.

– We are currently in the process of obtaining the authorization of the project for the building permit from the competent public companies, after which we will file a request for the issuing of the building permit – the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency says for eKapija.
