EBRD approved payment of loan for reconstruction of Gazela

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced today (February 24, 2010) that it had approved the payment of the loan for reconstruction of Belgrade's bridge Gazela.
According to the announcement, the reconstruction of Gazela is a part of the project for construction of the bypass and rehabilitation of the highway through Belgrade, which is jointly financed by the EBRD and the European Investment Bank with the loans amounting to total of 160m EUR.
The EBRD's Board of Directors decided to approve the payment of the loan although some of the issues related to relocation of families that lived underneath Gazela remained unresolved, which was also the reason for postponement of use of the money from that loan granted in 2007.
