Bionex to Build Bioethanol Plant in Apatin – Works to Start This Spring

The president of the Municipality of Apatin, Dubravka Korac, signed an agreement on the sales and purchase of land this Tuesday with representatives of Bionex, which plans to build a bioethanol plant within Free Zone Apatin.

Bionex is a company with Swiss capital which will invest around EUR 5 million in this factory. The total value of the land sales and purchase agreement is RSD 64 million, the city authorities announced.

– What’s especially important for the municipality is that, after several years, the parcel in the industrial zone has been sold at a realistic market price. I believe that that it is a great success for our municipality. The construction of the factory should start in March, after all the necessary permits are obtained. Initially, there will be work for around thirty workers, after which the company should start developing – Korac said.

She adds that the purchase of land is also an important message and that it means that the investor has trust in Apatin as an efficient local self-government and that it intends to stay there and expand its business.
