Protest of Business People in Front of Government of Serbia Requesting to Remove Subsidies to Foreign Investors

Several hundred entrepreneurs and business people protested yesterday, March 30, 2022, in front of the Government of Serbia with the aim of warning representatives of the authorities that they would ask the new government to stop subsidizing foreign investors with the money of the citizens of Serbia from the budget in the shortest amount of time possible and to redirect those funds to agriculture.

Among the requests is also a reduction of the charges on the salary amounts needed for the costs of the average consumer basket.

Business people also requested to stop the discrimination of mothers-entrepreneurs and have the “harmful” laws repealed – the Law on Fiscalization, the Law on Electronic Invoices and the Law on Archiving.

Another request is to process those who have harmed the budget of Serbia more quickly and to optimize the public administration.

One of the requests is to reform the Tax Administration in order to avoid the repetition of the cases such as the one, as they said, where a business owner whose son had died was accused of reducing the number of employees.

The protest was organized by the “Zastitnik preduzetnika i privrednika Srbije” association and the TAS (Tourism Organization of Serbia) Initiative.
