Innovation Ecosystem of Serbia to Be Oriented Toward Robotics?

We want to orient the innovation ecosystem of Serbia toward robotics and robot technologies and allocate considerable resources for that purpose, in the amount which will soon produce measurable results and, most importantly, we want to have innovations in robotics tied closely to the industry, emphasized the minister without a portfolio in charge of innovations and technology, Nenad Popovic.

During the Automatica fair in Munich, he met with representatives of the International Federation of Robotics, whose mission is to promote research, development, use and international cooperation in robotics on a global level.

Popovic emphasized that Serbia wanted to become part of this community and bring robotics in Serbia into a new development cycle through a partnership and cooperation with the best.

He pointed out that the key component in that process was the innovation of knowledge and the building of competences and added that Serbia was determined to invest a lot in the development of robotics, in order to become a regional leader in that field, the Government of Serbia announced.

According to him, establishing close relations between global leaders in industrial automation and SMEs in Serbia is one of the priority goals of the further development of the Serbian economy.

These forms of cooperation will enable Serbian engineers to master the latest technological achievements and, through a process of knowledge and technology transfer, essentially upgrade the production technologies at our factories, the minister explained and noted that it was impossible to be globally competitive without robots on production lines.

The most modern industrial and service robotics solutions, intelligent production systems and related industrial technologies were presented at the Automatica 2022 fair.
