The toll station Stara Pazova will soon let through twice as many vehicles as now. Last summer, its expansion started. The season ended with two additional channels, and there are now works on islands, so that a total of 17 traffic lanes would pass through it. It is, however, only one of the toll stations through which passengers will pass much faster in the future.

– Instead of the existing nine channels, the toll station Stara Pazova will have 17 channels, whereby the capacity will increase by nearly 90% compared to the current one. Designed after modern toll stations, it will become one of the biggest ones, and, along with the toll station Belgrade, will have the biggest capacity. The further expansion entails the construction of eight islands, which will make for a total of 17 traffic lanes, at least three of which, at any moment, will be intended exclusively to users of electronic toll collection. Above the toll channels, a modern administrative facility with an area of 300 square meters will be built – the PE Roads of Serbia says.

A new canopy is being built, which will cover 16 toll booths. The administrative facility will be located above the toll channels, and two parking spaces with electric chargers for users of electric vehicles are planned as well.

– Within the modernization of the road infrastructure, the PE Roads of Serbia has initiated the project of expansion of 26 toll stations on the highway network: Belgrade-Subotica, Belgrade-Sid and Belgrade-Nis. The aim is to increase the capacities and accelerate the passing of vehicles through the toll stations due to a great increase in the volume of traffic, especially in the summer period, during the holidays and in the period of the changing of the tourists. This project will considerably contribute to an improvement of the overall conditions of traveling on the highways in Serbia, especially considering that the majority of the toll stations covered by this investment was designed and built over 30 years ago – the company says.

On the stretch between Belgrade and Subotica, six toll stations will be expanded: Stara Pazova, Zmajevo, Vrbas, Feketic, Backa Topola and Zednik. On the section from Belgrade to Sid, the following stations will be expanded – Adasevci and Morovic. Fifteen stations toward Nis will also have more channels: Mali Pozarevac, Umcari, Vodanj, Kolari, Smederevo… The stations Presevo and Dimitrovgrad, as well as Obrenovac on the Milos Veliki highway, are encompassed as well.

New stations

On the Morava Corridor, from Pojate to Preljina – four stations are to be built – Cicevac, Krusevac East, Krusevac West and Kosevo.

– The first section of the Morava Corridor, from Pojate to Makresane, has opened for traffic and is currently not in the toll collection system. With the completion of the next section to Kosevo, the toll stations will be put into operation, whereas Pojate will be removed. Continuing down the Milos Veliki highway, on the Pakovrace-Pozega section, the toll stations Lucani and Prilipac are planned. From Ruma to Sabac, toll will be collected on the stations Ruma, Hrtkovci and Sabac – the PE Roads of Serbia says.
