Cadez: EXPO 2027 to Bring New Projects and Thousands of Jobs

By having Serbia be selected to host the renowned international exhibit EXPO 2027, we have done a great job for our country and Belgrade, said Marko Cadez, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS).

– At the moment, we are possibly not even aware of how important this is. We’re talking several thousand new jobs, a unique opportunity to attract hundreds of people who have never been to our city. To create new projects for our companies. I truly thank from my heart all the people from the EXPO team, the government and the president of Serbia, for believing in this project from the start and for doing everything in their power for us to show to the whole world that we are a winning city, country and region – Cadez pointed out, as announced by the CCIS.

Serbia has been chosen to host EXPO 2027, winning all four rounds of voting at the General Assembly of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) in Paris, where it received the largest number of votes, and in the last round Serbia’s only opponent was Spain.

Serbia was one of the five candidates for the organization of this fair, along with the United States of America, Thailand, Spain and Argentina, and the only country from Southeast Europe to apply for hosting this prestigious expo.

The BIE General Assembly congratulated Serbia on being selected to host EXPO 2027.

The member states of BIE chose Serbia with 81 votes, compared to the 70 that Spain got.
