Limitation of Number of Land Operators at Belgrade Airport Removed – Air Pink Only Local Company with Required Certificates

The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, said on TV Prva that it was in line with the concession agreement and added that each company chose its land operator at every airport according to who provided the best service.
He said that, until that point, at the Belgrade Airport, three companies had been able to do so – the concessionaire Vinci, as the biggest one, Air Serbia, which had the option, though it never used it, and the French company Sky Partner.
He said that, at that moment, another three companies had the required certificates – the British Menzies Ground Handling, which serves 300 million passengers in 60 countries each year, the Greek Golden Air, with 5,000 employees, and the local company Air Pink.
Let us remind that Vesic announced recently that the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia would open the tender for new land operators at the Nikola Tesla Airport not long after.
– We believe that, with the arrival of new operators, we can enable a greater competition and a better provision of these services – Vesic said and added that other Serbian airports also featured plenty of different land operators and that the Nikola Tesla Airport would not be any different from the others.
