At the end of 2021, Serbia signed an agreement on a loan of EUR 400 million for the financing of the construction of the Pojate-Preljina highway. The job was entrusted to Bechtel.
– Considering the need for securing additional financial funds for the realization of said project of up to EUR 100 million, within the already approved MIGA guarantee, which enables the Republic of Serbia to keep favorable financial terms, on March 21, 2023, an amendment to the loan agreement was signed – says the explanation of the proposed agreement.
– The traffic route from Pojate to Preljina is one of the most important ones, because it connects central parts of the Republic of Serbia with the two most important routes, corridors 10 and 11. The future highway will be built on the existing route of the first-grade state road and connect all the major populated places in the region – it is said.
The state is to take out another EUR 200 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank for the financing of the public health sector. The aim is to secure continuity in improving the health institutions and social welfare centers in Serbia.
