Demostat: Highway to Pozega - not even in 2024?

The section of the Preljina-Pozega highway will not be completed until the end of this year, and the question is whether the new road will even be open for traffic in 2024, since the works are significantly delayed, Demostat writes today. According to unofficial sources, the reason for the delay is not only the complex configuration of the terrain, but above all the delay in the implementation of expropriation, which is why the works have been stopped several times in the past months.

In addition to the fact that Chinese loans are contracted in a non-transparent manner, there are increasing problems when it comes to payments to subcontractors, Demostat reports.

The section whose construction began in 2019 was originally supposed to be completed by the end of December 2021, as announced by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
