Reconstruction of Railroad from Nis to Dimitrovgrad to Begin in Seven Days

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has issued approval for the reconstruction and modernization of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad railroad, minister Goran Vesic announced on his social media profiles and added that the works would begin seven days from then.

– The Serbian Railways company has reached an agreement with the Bulgarian rail company, the “windows” within which rail traffic will be carried out during the reconstruction have been agreed. It has been more than five years since the agreement on the reconstruction and modernization of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad railroad was signed on February 2, 2018. When I was elected minister in October last year, I said that one of my priorities would be to launch this project. I am grateful to all the people who have worked diligently in the past year, because new requirements needed to be obtained, new studies needed to be done and the project needed to be innovated – emphasized Vesic, who also uploaded an image of the issued solution for Phase 1 of this project (Prosek-Dimitrovgrad section, that is, the open railroad Stanicenje-Pirot).

According to that document, the investor is the Serbian Railways Infrastructure company.
