The newly built Lagator stadium in Loznica opened

FSS President Dragan Dzajic officially opened the newly built stadium in Loznica, which he toured in the presence of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. Lagator is one of the most modern stadiums in the country and has a capacity of 8,000 seats. Vucic said that the stadium in Loznica, as well as those in Zajecar and Leskovac, were built according to the highest standards of the European football organization UEFA.

As he said, the opening of the stadium was delayed because there were problems with the hybrid grass, i.e. the natural part of that grass was not "received" properly, but that problem has been solved.

- UEFA came whenever it was necessary to improve something and pointed it out to us, whether it was about the toilets or the box for visiting fans. Now all three new stadiums in Serbia - Loznica, Leskovac and Zajecar - have been completed according to the highest UEFA standards - pointed out Vucic.

As he assessed, a delay of two, three or four months is not too much of a problem, when you take into account that, as he points out, certain others were 40 years late with the construction of the stadium. Vucic also announced investments in other stadiums in Serbia, such as those in Nis and Kragujevac. As he said, about EUR 80 million should be invested in the new Cair stadion in Nis.

The construction of Lagator took two and a half years, making this facility the largest in the city and one of the most modern in Serbia. From the stadiums in Leskovac and Zajecar, Lagator in Loznica differs in appearance, as well as in the number of seats, around 8,000, but also in price - it cost the state RSD 3.2 billion.

In their interview for RTS, they point out that the new stadium will contribute to the development of sports in the wider area of the city.

- I think it means a lot to every citizen of Loznica. It will be the first match in Loznica under the limelights and I think every player dreams of playing a match under the limelights with a lot of fans present - said Nemanja Kojic, FC Loznica football player.

The first match at the new stadium in Loznica will be played on the same day at 5 pm between the local football clubs Loznica and Vrelo. A day later, on Sunday, the A national team of Serbia will play a match with Bulgaria in the qualifiers for next summer's European Championship in Germany.
