Cornerstone Laid Down for Extension of Science-Technology Park in Nis – EUR 25 Million to Be Invested in New 9,500 m2

The cornerstone was laid down in Nis for the construction of the second phase of the Science-Technology Park in that city, and the prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, announced that the task was for it to be completed by October 2025. Brnabic added that the state would invest EUR 25 million in the construction, according to the website of the Government of Serbia.

The new facility in Nis, which will be built in the northwestern part of the complex of the Nis Science Park, between the multi-purpose complex of the Faculty of Electronics and the Student Center restaurant, will include approximately 9,500 square meters for office space and between 900 and 1,000 square meters for laboratory space.

Let us remind that the tender for the construction and expansion of science-technology parks in Cacak, Krusevac and Nis was published in September.

In June, the Government of Serbia and the EBRD signed the agreement on the upgrade of the science infrastructure, the construction of new science-technology parks and additional buildings in the existing STPs in the country worth EUR 80 million. The agreement secures EUR 80 million, of which EUR 70 million is meant for the additional construction of science-technology parks (STPs), whereas EUR 10 million is set aside for the BIO 4 campus in Belgrade.
