Regional meeting of auditors in Belgrade on September 12-13


A regional conference of national audit institutions will be held in Belgrade on September 12 and 13, the National Audit Institution (NAI) of Serbia announced Tuesday.
The government auditors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia will speak about relations between their supreme audit institutions and parliaments, the audit of political parties, public companies and local self-governments' budgets, and the strengthening of cooperation between supreme audit institutions, media and the public.
President of the Serbian Parliament Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, President of the NAI Radoslav Sretenovic, UNDPI Permanent Representative to Serbia William Enfante, and Ambassador of Norway to Serbia Nils Ragner Kamsvaag will deliver their speeches in the introductory part of the conference.
The conference Regional Experiences and Prospects is organized by the NAI as part of the project Boosting Responsibility Mechanisms in Public Finance, with the support of the UNDPI and the Kingdom of Norway.
The NAI was formed in September 2007 and it has so far audited Serbia's budgets for 2008 and 2009, as well as financial reports of several public companies.
