Italian supermarket chain Eurospin coming to Serbia

In the past years, Eurospin has been actively working on expanding in Croatia, and recently, it also opened the first modern discount stores in Malta.
Eurospin is the biggest Italian discount chain. It was founded in 1993 and has over 1,200 stores. New stores spread on areas of around 2,000 square meters and have meat, delicatessen, fruit and vegetable sections. Eurospin is the only chain in Europe which sells food articles exclusively under its own brands.
In 2022, the company reported a turnover of EUR 9.3 billion. The branch office Eurospin Eko, which manages the stores in Slovenia and Croatia, will be in charge of the development in Serbia.
The portal also reminds that the company Retail and More from Greece, a member of AVE Group, recently took over the master franchise of Carrefour for the Serbian market as well. The Greek company is developing the plan of entering the Serbian market, but also the markets of North Macedonia and Albania with stores of the French trader. Unofficially, the first Carrefour supermarkets in Serbia might be opened as soon as the second half of next year.
