The opening of the railway line from Novi Sad to Subotica expected by November 25

The railway to Subotica should be open by November 25, that is, by Unification Day. There are still a few things left to be completed, such as test driving and supervision, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced during a tour of the new Vrbas railway station. He indicated that Vrbas will be the central station between Novi Sad and Subotica.

He also announced works on the railway that will go towards Banat, where trains will be able to travel up to 120 kilometers per hour.

- We still have to speed up the Belgrade-Sid railway, which would completely connect Vojvodina by train - said Vucic.

He also added that, if the deals are successful with the company in charge of building the railway to Subotica, its workers will be relocated to begin work on the Banat railway.

- So, from Pancevo, through the municipality of Opovo, Zrenjanin, then to Kikinda, in fact Novi Milosevo, then we would make a branch to Kikinda and to Subotica and especially Sombor-Vrbas, which would connect Sombor with the Novi Sad-Subotica railway, i.e. Belgrade- Subotica as well - Vucic said.
