More than 34,000 permits for residence and work issued through Portal for Foreign Citizens

From the launching of the Portal for Foreign Citizens on February 1 this year until November 30, a total of 34,146 requests for the Single Permit for Temporary Residence and Work of Foreign Citizens in the Republic of Serbia were resolved positively. In November alone, 3,635 single permits were issued, said the director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanovic, and added that the Single Permit for Temporary Residence and Work was issued in the form of a biometric document, in the form of a card.

If the request is submitted individually by a foreign citizen, they need to have a profile on the Portal for Electronic Identification, whereas, if the request is submitted by the employer, they need to have an open profile on the eGovernment Portal as a legal person, and the legal representative has to have a registered profile, according to the website of the Office. All that is needed is for the legal representative of the legal person to register at the eGovernment Portal and authorize a person for the submission of a request for the single permit on behalf of that legal person, by assigning the role “Work with Foreign Citizens”.

Also, within the Portal for Foreign Citizens, it is also possible to apply for visa C, which is a visa for a stay of up to 90 days, which is issued for tourist, business and other trips, as well as one, two, or more entries in the Republic of Serbia. Also, it is possible to apply for visa D, which is a visa for a stay of up to 90 to 180 days, which is issued based on employment, education, family merging and similar.

The establishment of the Portal for Foreign Citizens in February this year enabled a new service for the submission of requestions for the Single Permit for Temporary Residence and Work for Foreign Citizens in the Republic of Serbia. The request for a single permit may be filed by a foreign citizen or an employer on behalf of a foreign citizen exclusively electronically on the Portal for Foreign Citizens.
