Serbia and UAE considering launching joint robotics program with Serbian engineers

Serbia and the United Arab Emirates are considering the possibility of launching a joint robotics program which would utilize the extraordinary Serbian engineering potential, announced the cabinet of the Serbian minister without portfolio in charge of international economic cooperation.

This was said at the meeting between minister Nenad Popovic and Mariam Almheiri, the director of the UAE Presidential Court Office of International Affairs.

The minister, who is taking part in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the second biggest conference dedicated to sustainable development and innovations in the United Arab Emirates, met with Almheiri at the UAE Presidential Court. They discussed joint projects in the field of innovations in the food industry, artificial intelligence, but also new investments of the UAE in Serbian companies which are in the clean energy business.

Popovis also visited Masdar City, a futuristic city within Abu Dhabi which uses 100% renewable energy. This city uses only sustainable solar energy-powered transport and is home to the Masdar Institute, a leading center for the research of clean energy and sustainability, as well as the only University of Artificial Intelligence in the world.

Masdar City was built on the foundations of the most modern technologies and shows how innovations can be put into the service of ecology and economy, so during his visit, the minister talked with experts about the implementation of these solutions in Serbia.

– Serbia is already a leader in the region by many technological and economic indicators, but I believe that cooperation with the United Arab Emirates regarding this question will additionally improve our capacities and strengthen the position of our country on a global level – said Popovic.
