The General Assembly session for members was opened with a welcome speech from Mr. Marko Nikolić, President of the CANSEE Board of Directors, who thanked everyone for their attendance and ongoing support. He emphasized CANSEE's commitment to further promoting ESG principles, as well as Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion across all aspects of business, along with digitalization, artificial intelligence, and responsible business practices. CANSEE members attended the session and participated in the approval of the financial statement for the year 2024.
Following the General Assembly, a Business Networking Reception was held, attended by nearly 100 distinguished guests, and generously supported by CANSEE's esteemed founding member, DPM Avala. The event, hosted at the National Museum of Serbia, provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to reconnect and network, all while enjoying drinks from CANSEE’s valued member, AIS DROP, featuring spirits infused with edible gold particles, along with a delightful selection of hors d’oeuvres. Guests were also given the exclusive opportunity to explore the museum’s exhibitions, guided by a curator, and view a rich collection of artifacts spanning from the early Middle Ages to the First Serbian Uprising, presented across ten thematic units.
Ms. Mirjana Dončić, CANSEE's Managing Director, delivered a heartfelt opening speech, expressing her sincere gratitude to the founding members, partners and the Embassy of Canada for its continued support of CANSEE's mission and vision. She also extended her thanks to the members and the Board of Directors for their ongoing support. She took a moment to remind the guests that last year, CANSEE celebrated a significant milestone—its 10th anniversary. She highlighted that this year marks another important milestone, with the 10th edition of the Canadian mini-MBA LEADER Project from the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario, in partnership with the Chamber of Industry of Serbia and Embassy of Canada, which has already seen 400 participants enroll over the past years in Serbia thus supporting the growth of Serbian businesses and entrepreneurship, which positively affects the overall economic development of the country. She further shared the exciting news that CANSEE has many activities planned for this year, and she looks forward to what lies ahead.
H.E. Michelle Cameron, Ambassador of Canada to Serbia, also addressed the guests and shared her genuine pleasure in being in Serbia. She complimented the work of the CANSEE organization in strengthening ties between the two countries. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and expressed Canada’s commitment to furthering the relationship with Serbia.
The General Assembly and the subsequent Business Networking Reception were a great success, offering valuable opportunities for networking and connection. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and were especially impressed by the museum’s exhibition, which provided a unique and enriching cultural experience.
