The Government of Serbia has adopted the decision determining the public interest for expropriation to the end of building a new handover gas station “Horgos”.

As said, the decision was made in line with the Detailed Regulation Plan for the construction of the new handover gas station Horgos in the cadastral municipality of Horgos, in the territory of the municipality of Kanjiza.

The Public Enterprise Srbijagas, which is the investor in this project, is set as the beneficiary of the expropriation.

According to said DRP for the construction of the new gas station, it will be built because the equipment and the manner of measuring the gas at the existing handover station Horgos are out of date and inadequate.

The area covered by the plan amounts to slightly over 22 hectares, and the new station will be built alongside the existing one, in close proximity to the border with Hungary.

It will be used primarily for the needs of the TurkStream gas pipeline through Serbia.

The capacity of the new station has not been announced, and the capacity of the existing handover station Horgos amounts to 540,000 m3/h (13 million m3/day).
