Preparation of the Draft Law on Broadband Communication Infrastructure has begun

The Serbian Ministry of Information and Telecommunications announced that the first working group meeting was held today in Belgrade
for drafting the Law on Broadband Communication Infrastructure which should be completed by June 30, 2025.

The new law should set clear guidelines for the further development of broadband communication infrastructure while reducing costs, using the existing infrastructure of all authorities and to speed up the development of high capacity networks which is of key importance for the further development of digitalization of the economy and society.

The members of the Working Group took part in the meeting - experts from the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, RATEL, representatives of the Foreign Investors Council, American Chamber of Commerce, telecommunication operators and the business sector. Katarina Tomašević, Assistant Minister for Electronic Communications and Postal Traffic, presided.
