State to found new company SPV Banatski Dvor – With investment of EUR 145 million, gas storage to be expanded

The Government of Serbia has adopted the decision on the founding of a company called SPV Banatski Dvor d.o.o. Novi Sad, whose task will be to realize the project of the expansion of the Banatski Dvor underground gas storage facility.

The initial capital is RSD 1,000, and 100% of the ownership over the company belongs to the Republic of Serbia.

Let us remind that the long-announced expansion of the Banatski Dvor gas storage facility has begun. It is necessary for a secure supply – not just due to the growth of consumption in the industry, but also because of the higher number of connected households.

The Banatski Dvor storage is the only one in Serbia, and its capacity is now being doubled. It will have another 12 boreholes, and the procurement of the equipment has already been contracted. The carriers of the job are the shareholders of Banatski Dvor, Srbijagas and Gazprom.

The minister of mining and energy in a technical mandate, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, says that the total value of the investment is EUR 145 million.
