Srbijavoz procuring train simulators – Improvement of rail traffic safety

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia has opened the tender for the procurement of train simulators for Srbijavoz.

To clarify, the Republic of Serbia has received financing from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for the costs of the modernization of the rail system and it intends to use part of the proceeds for payments per contract for the train simulators. This contract will be jointly financed by the French Development Agency (Agence française de développement – AFD).

Srbijavoz, within its digital transformation strategy, plans to use the simulators for the training of train drivers and candidates in a controlled environment. The application of train simulators is expected to considerably improve the safety of rail traffic by enabling a controlled training of the staff for the handling of unexpected and critical situations, the invitation says.

In concrete terms, the procurement includes:

– a simulator replicating the Stadler Flirt Electric Multiple Unit coded no. 413-0;
– a simulator replicating the Stadler Flirt Electric Multiple Unit coded no. 413-100;
– a simulator replicating the diesel multiple unit Metrowagonmash.

Bids must be submitted by June 16.

The bidding process will be regulated by the World Bank Procurement Regulations.
