The founder and owner of MikroElektronika, Nebojsa Matic, has stated that, at the meeting of business people with US president’s son Donald Trump Junior, it was said that there were efforts toward reaching an agreement on a customs-free trade of the USA and Serbia, which would bring Serbia into “a great position,” published Nedeljnik.

On Saturday, April 26, in Belgrade, Trump Junior had a meeting with around thirty local business people, Matic among them.

At the meeting, the question of the height of the US customs, including the announced new ones, reciprocal, of 37% for Serbia, whose implementation had been postponed for 90 days in April, was mentioned.

According to Matic, Trump Junior told the local business people: “Don’t worry, we’ll solve it.”

– He told us that his father worked by first “shaking the status quo”, so that a new deal would then be made – Matic said for Nedeljnik and estimated that it was a typical entrepreneurial way of doing things.

Matic believes that Trump Junior is “a true offspring of an entrepreneurial family, one of those that are central to world events.”

US president’s son, Matic said, has a company which manages construction projects worth several billion dollars, and he chose him to talk about the local economy and he was interested in topics such as regulations, politics and innovations.

– Although I have to admit that I didn’t know how I had found myself among the representatives of our biggest companies with several thousand employees, it turned out that innovations were one of Trump Junior’s favorite topics. That is why, after the meeting was completed, we continued talking about the unusual organization of MikroElektronika – said the company’s owner, Matic.

They discussed how MikroElektronika, which produces hardware and software tools, managed to place a product a day on the market, while having a four-day work week.

– I told Trump Junior how we had made a step forward in business organization. In essence, we realized that, for hundreds of years back, companies had been making the same mistake: they have too many levels of management, which is not sold in the market, and is very expensive. Companies have a CEO, then they have managers, heads of departments, team-leaders. We have process managers and employees, so, five times less management than a “normal” company and that is why we can be so fast, efficient and productive – said Matic.

He estimated that the most important result of the meeting with Donald Trump Junior was “a positive message” to the economy of Serbia: that the business and development were heading down the right path and that the issue of customs would be “solved.”

– We also got the advice to not overdo it with the regulations like the European Union has done – said Matic.
