Tender for reconstruction of facades in Novi Sad center opened – Several buildings to get new look through works worth over RSD 60 million

The Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments Novi Sad has initiated the public procurement of conservation and restoration works on the reconstruction of street and yard facades and roofs of several important facilities in the center of Novi Sad, with a total estimated value of RSD 60 million.

The works will encompass the buildings Muzicka Omladina (Musical Youth), Biblioteka (Library) - second phase, the facility at 17 Save Vukovica Street, as well as the façade and the roof of the facility at 2 Republic Square. A special focus is placed on preserving the ambient integrity and historical identity of the city.

Construction and craft works, as well as conservation and restoration works, will be carried out on the buildings, including:

• the replacement of the dilapidated and damaged mortar with suitable materials meant for historical buildings,
• the restoration and conservation of mortar profiles
• the replacement of all the openings (including the removal of the existing PVC windows),
• the reconstruction of the rain gutters, chimneys, sills, as well as sheet-metal linings,
• the painting of the facades and the replacement of the roof coverings.

A special request pertains to the use of factory-prepared mortars with high steam permeability and salt resistance, whereas all the works will be carried out in compliance with the technical regulations and standers, with the engagement of qualified experts.
