Today, in the Government of Serbia, an annex to the contract on Zemun-Borca bridge construction, with access roads was signed implying additional up to USD 2, 3 m for already implemented works.

The Annex 4 to the contract was signed by the Vice President of the Government of Serbia and the Minster of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic, the Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali and the General Manager of China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) branch office in Serbia, Zhang Siao Huen, at the presence of the Ambassador of the National Republic of China in Serbia, Li Manchang.

After the signing, Mihajlovic said the bridge will be put into operations in line with the plan, by late December this year and the entire project with an access roads will be over by October 2015. She added that she cannot communicate the final bridge construction costs but as she said, everything is done to make the price as realistic as possible.

She said it was initially estimated the bridge will cost USD 260 m as well as that it is necessary to provide additional USD 70 mil for expropriation and announced that they expect talks on compensation requests of contractors and subcontractors which total USD 32 mil as for now.

Mihajlovic explained that Annex 4 to the contract makes significant savings of somewhat more than half a million dollars so the final amount the state and the city should provide for the works instead of USD 2,9 mil to decreased 2,3 mil USD.

It will be the second bridge at the Danube in Belgrade and the plan implies that in the future, another bridge at the Danube at Vinca to be built as well as the one across Ada Huja.
