More building permits issued than last year – The biggest construction sites in Backa, Belgrade and Srem
According to the number of issued permits, building of 1,064 flats, averagely 69.2 square meters in size, was registered in May, which is 81.3% more than at the same time previous year, Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia shows through its official figures.
Out of the total number of flats in new buildings, 12.7% will be in one-flat buildings with an average area of 129.5 square meters, while 83.7% of flats will be in buildings with three or more flats, and their average area will be significantly less, 57.3 m2.
644 building permits were issued in May, which is 6.6% more than in May last year.
Considering a type of construction, 75% of permits were issued for buildings and 25% for other types of construction. When it comes to buildings, 68.7% relates to residential buildings and 31.3% to non-residential buildings, while other constructions include pipelines, communication and power lines – 65.8%.
Estimated value of construction works is 85.1% out of total estimated value. The highest construction activity is noticed in the south of Backa region, 21.2% of the total value of new building activity.
It is followed by Belgrade area 17.2%, Srem 15.8%, South Banat region 9.9% and Pomoravlje region 5.5%, while other regions participate up to 4%.
