500 Emerging Europe Supporting Local Startups with EUR 70 Million – Focus on Serbia Too

The world-famous VC fund called 500 Startups currently has nearly 50 unicorns in its portfolio, and 40% of those companies are located outside the USA. These statistics led in 2016 to the creation of 500 Istanbul, a VC fund which was recently renamed as 500 Emerging Europe and which is focused on European countries from Turkey to the Baltics, including Serbia.

Startups from these states have a new fund at their disposal, worth EUR 70 million.

The initial (seed) investments will go up to EUR 2 million, whereas bigger amounts are reserved for the follow-on rounds.

A visit to Belgrade can be expected in 2023.
