– When it comes to the works on the route, we are working in the zone of the bridge toward the highway on one side, and on the other, we are making a connection toward the Zezelj Bridge. The most important thing is that the works have started from the exit portal of the Irisiki Venac tunnel toward Irig, that is, toward the Vrdnik interchange, where seven bridges are being built, that is, four support walls and the first works on the route – said Antic, as announced by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.

The relevant minister Goran Vesic, who visited the Iriski Venac tunnel site with Antic, said that that part of the Fruska Gora Corridor was the most demanding part of the project.

– After the works are completed, the Iriski Venac tunnel will be the longest one in Serbia, as much as 3.5 kilometers. At this point, slightly over 30% is done, which means that, according to the planned dynamics, the works will be done by 2026, and the entire corridor will be connected with Novi Sad, including the bridge near Petrovaradin. That way, we will connect this traffic route with the already built Ruma-Sabac traffic route with an extension toward Loznica, that is, the Belgrade-Sid highway, and near Novi Sad, with the highway which goes from Belgrade toward Novi Sad and Subotica and the future Belgrade-Zrenjanin highway, whose construction we are starting this month – Vesic said.
