EUR 400 million has been secured for the program of subsidizing the purchase of 5,500 apartments for young people, aged 20 to 35, stated the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

– That is a program of essential importance for Serbia. It’s not a social measure, but primarily a measure for the future of Serbia in the economic, demographic and every kind of developmental sense and that is why the state has secured a considerable sum – Vucic said at the presentation of that program.

He said that EUR 130 million was “a direct gift from the state” and that the unemployed would also be able to purchase apartments.

– Registered facilities, whether in old or new buildings, will be available for purchase. The program also pertains to people who want to buy a house, an apartment, parts of an apartment building, a garage, a garage space if it comes with an apartment, as well as land for the construction of a building – said Vucic.

He added that the implementation of the program would begin in March 2025.

– My idea is to raise the maximum price per square meter. The requirement was up to EUR 2,200 for Belgrade, and it will be EUR 2,500 or 2,600 for Belgrade. That will change – said Vucic.
