Alibunar 1 and 2 wind farm projects sold to Chinese – Beginning of construction of total of 168 MW planned in fourth quarter of 2025

The projects of the wind farms Alibunar 1, with a capacity of 96.6 MW, and Alibunar 2, with a capacity of 71.4 MW, have been sold to the Chinese manufacturer of wind turbines SANY Renewable Energy.

The purchaser, in fact, as foreign media report, is Heavy Energy International, a subsidiary of said Chinese manufacturer of wind turbines with the headquarters in Hong Kong.

As the company WV-International, which has developed these projects in partnership with the Norwegian developer Emergy, announced, the Alibunar 1 and Alibunar 2 wind farms are “since recently in majority ownership of SANY Renewable Energy.”

The announcement says that the preparations for the construction of the Alibunar 1 and Alibunar 2 power plants are in progress, and the beginning of the construction is planned in the fourth quarter of this year.

The model of the turbines which will be installed is S168 with a capacity of 4.2 MW by the Chinese owner.

The company has announced that the Alibunar 1 and Alibunar 2 wind farms placed second and third respectively on the preliminary ranking of the projects which competed for the allocation of market premiums in the category of wind farms within the second auctions for renewable energy sources organized by the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

Following the completion of the construction and connecting to the transmission network, the company will sell 100 percent of the planned production to Elektroprivreda Srbije AD, with which it previously signed an agreement on the sale of electrical energy for the duration of 15 years.

Once operational, the Alibunar 1 and Alibunar 2 wind farms will produce 480 megawatt-hours a year, whereby it will contribute considerably to the production of clean and green electrical energy in the total energy mix of the country.

The announcement adds that WV-International, in cooperation with Emergy, will continue developing wind farms with a total capacity of 571 MW which are part of the complex of the Banat project, as well as hybrid power plants of 125 megawatts which will combine wind and solar energy.
