In the second round of the auctions for the allocation of the market premiums for renewable energy source (RES) projects, which were opened in November 2024 by the Ministry of Mining and Energy, the investors applied 41 projects. For solar power plants, 34 applications were made, and quotas were allocated for five of them. The biggest quota was allocated to the company Solarina doo for the project Solarina (105 MW), whereas the remaining four companies got far lower quotas. Kobra Global doo got a quota of 7.5 MW for the solar power plant Kobra, and Brankov solar doo got 5.6 MW for the project B2 Sunspot 2. The company Privredno drustvo za proizvodnju elektricne energije Mona Green Energy doo got a quota of 5 MW for the project of the construction of the solar power plant Kucevo 2, whereas the company Vemi biogas doo got a quota of 1.7 MW for the project Vemi Sun 2.

– The offered quota is entirely filled out, and the capacities which will be built amount to 645 MW, that is, we will have 10 new wind and solar power plants. The offered prices are very competitive, that is, EUR 50.9 per megawatt-hour for solar power and EUR 53.5 per megawatt-hour for wind power, which is considerably below the level of the market prices. According to our model of incentives, this means that we do not expect that there will be subsidizing of power plants, but that they will mostly return the extra profit to the state as long as the market prices are higher than those offered by the winners at the auctions – said the minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, on the occasion of the completed auctions.

The total value of the investments that will be realized is EUR 782 million, the ministry announced.
