Two Chinese companies make profit of nearly EUR 1 billion from Serbian ores in 2024

The Chinese companies Zijin Copper and Zijin Mining realized a net profit of nearly one billion euros last year, reports the Danas portal. The profit of Zijin Mining amounted to around EUR 715 million, and of Zijin Copper around 252 million.

The scale of their earnings is best shown by the data that the next big company in this sector, Rudnik Lece, had a profit of around EUR 14 million in 2024.

According to the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, last year, the industries which contributed the most to the GDP growth were construction and mining.

Compared to 2023, construction grew 8.3 percent, and mining 7.5 percent.
